
Injured Elbow Treatments
There are many reasons for elbow pain, such as tendonitis
golf elbow, tennis elbow, etc.... You may force your elbow backwards causing
a Hyperextended elbow. Tendonitis
golf elbow, tennis elbow, pitcher’s elbow, golfer’s elbow are
all common names for Tendinitis, which is caused by repeated motions of the arm
during work or sports.
Bursitis is another form of elbow pain and can be quite painful, especially
at the tip of the elbow. Acute bursitis, if not treated, can lead to chronic
bursitis and small, painful lumps at the point of the elbow.
Common Treatments for elbow pain:
- Use the RICE method and pain medication to control pain and swelling. (Rest,
Ice, Compression and Elevation)
- Rest from the activities that caused the pain.
- Gentle stretching and strengthening exercises can help in recovery and in
preventing future injury. Ask your doctor to recommend specific exercises for
you.
- Braceing or supporting the area durng activty to reduce pain or prevent injury.
